Summer Programmes in Dublin Underway

It is week two for the summer school students and week three for the interns working and living in Dublin.

The 12 summer school students arrive in Dublin today after spending several days in Galway with Prof. Jim Smith and exploring the West. The next two weeks will be in Dublin with a trip up to Belfast and lectures by Dr. Dominic Bryan, Director of Irish Studies at Queens University. In Dublin, the students will visit the National Gallery, Croke Park and other cultural institutions related to lectures given by Prof. Mike Cronin. You can see the academic schedule here.

The nine interns have settled in and have begun exploring Dublin, Ireland and the rest of Europe, with many trips planned throughout June and July. The BC Alumni Association Irelandchapter has been a wonderful addition to the social events here. The alumni in Ireland have offered support and advice to these future BC alumni.

The next event (the first joint event for summer school students and interns) is an evening at the National Theatre. We are looking forward to the upcoming afternoon in Howth and the 4th of July BBQ at the BC-Ireland offices.
