The Field Day Archive

Field Day, the theatre and publishing company, has just published a guide to the correspondence, minutes, photographs, scripts, programmes, reels of film, audio recordings and other items that comprise its files. Compiled by Cormac Ó Duibhne of the Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology, the guide is a valuable resource for scholars interested in Irish literary and political culture since the company’s formation in 1980.

This is a really handsome book. I was surprised to find so many illustrations here, it makes it so much more interesting to flick through. With my interest in Seamus Heaney, I was also interested to learn about the role he played in Field Day.
