Preserving the Tara Complex

The Anthropology and Sociology Departments at Bridgewater State College are co-sponsoring a pair of events on Sunday, October 28 and Monday, October 29 centering on the preservation of the Tara Complex in Ireland.

On the afternoon of Sunday, October 28, Dr. Ronald Hicks, an internationally renowned expert on Celtic Bronze and Iron Age culture, will present a lecture titled “Ireland’s Threatened Heritage: Lismullen and the Tara Complex.” This will be a fund-raiser with a suggested donation of $25.00 per person. Following the lecture there will be a wine-and-cheese reception and an Irish harp-flute duet. The event will take place in the Large Ballroom of the College’s Campus Center.

On Monday morning, October 29, Dr. Hicks will present a less formal discussion on “Ireland’s Royal Sites.” This talk will be free for BSC students, faculty, staff and the general public. It will take place in the John J. Moakley Center Auditorium.
For details of either event, please contact Dr. Curtiss Hoffman, Chairperson, Department of Anthropology at Bridgewater State College. Dr. Hoffman can be reached at c1hoffman@bridgew.edu
