James Joyce Course
The James Joyce course (EN309), taught by Professor Joseph Nugent, has been spending the Fall 2008 semester reading Ulysses. In order to approach such a difficult text, the class has been employing numerous strategies, including a variety of web components that students use to share their reactions to the text. Students gather and process information through the wiki feature on the internal BCshare website. Each small group has their own blog and wiki where they can enter their findings and review the work of others. Additionally, students have been compiling textual data to create a Google Map of the characters' paths through Dublin. The groups' wikis will eventually be compiled and linked to the virtual map.
