2009 Irish Film Series

The 2009 Boston College Irish Studies Film Series continues with Saviours and Learning Gravity tonight, March 17, 2009 at 6:00pm at the West Newton Cinema. Saviours is an intimate, gripping documentary following three young boxers from the same Dublin boxing club, St. Saviours Olympic Boxing Academy. Part manifesto and part memoir, Learning Gravity chronicles the life of Thomas Lynch, the renowned poet and essayist whose work won the American Book Award and inspired the HBO series Six Feet Under.

Saviours will also be shown on Wednesday, March 18, from 6:30-8:00pm at Boston College, in McGuinn Hall Room 121. The Irish Film Series runs through Thursday, March 26. See the Irish Studies Film Series calendar for additional details.
